Christopher Rashad Green

Founder of Free*Dome Unlimited Richmond, VA Award Year: 2022

Christopher Rashad Green is a community activist, a motivational speaker, and the founder of Free*Dome Unlimited, which provides training, workshops, and guest speakers on issues related to criminal justice reform and community health. Green is a formerly incarcerated individual who, as a political organizer and health-equity advocate, is on a journey to empower men, women, and children in overcoming the challenges and injustices of the criminal justice system. He also works as a community organizer at New Virginia Majority, where he leads the Court Watch of Central Virginia. He also serves as a member of the Richmond Food Justice Alliance, a resident-led movement to increase access to healthy food in Richmond, Virginia. Green’s work has focused on educating the public about issues such as mass incarceration, voter registration, reform and empowering communities economically and politically. He has served in various roles with organizations such as the Family Representative of Council of the Virginia Commonwealth University East Marshall Street Well Project. On August 15, 2016 Green had his voting rights restored, allowing him to vote for the first time in over 20 years.
